Western Sydney Launches Heatwave Toolkit for Organisations

Heatwaves are responsible for more Australian deaths than bushfires, floods and storms combined, yet we don’t always take heat as seriously as we should. Heat and can also disrupt critical infrastructure such as energy, transport and telecommunications.
With funding from Resilience NSW, Western Sydney councils and the Western Sydney Local Health District have developed a suite of resources to assist community organisations better prepare for heatwaves to reduce impacts on business continuity and client welfare.
The pack includes:
• Heat Smart: A guide for building heatwave preparedness in community organisations
• Heat education resources for community.
