The Wettenhall Environment Trust provides grants to support grassroots organisations, individuals, and academics working with on-ground community groups, on projects which encourage positive changes to biodiversity conservation in Australia.

Projects can involve any of the following:

  • Monitoring, recording and sharing data
  • Delivering community education
  • Providing community capacity building (such as training)
  • Research and science

There are four funding rounds each year in February, May, August and November. The 2023 grant rounds opening dates are:

  • Thursday 1 December 2022 (funding released February 2023)
  • Saturday 1 April 2023 (funding released May 2023)
  • Saturday 1 July 2023 (funding released August 2023)
  • Sunday 1 October 2023 (funding released November 2023)
  • Friday 1 December 2023 (funding released February 2024)
