The Office of the Children’s Guardian is exploring the benefits of regulating child safe standards in NSW and is seeking feedback on its Regulating Child Safe Organisations discussion paper, (PDF 1.7MB) which proposes changes that would make it compulsory for many organisations in NSW to meet the child safe standards.
While many organisations already work in ways that are consistent with the standards, making the standards mandatory sends a strong message about the importance of child safety.
Your feedback will be used to design an approach that responds to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and is appropriate for NSW.

Public consultation closes 29 March 2019.
