What Does Volunteering Mean to International Students?
Volunteering is more than giving time. It is about building connections, developing new skills, supporting communities, and creating a sense of belonging.
For many international students, volunteering can be a powerful way to engage with local communities, gain valuable experience, and make a positive impact while studying in Australia.
This collection of videos features participants from the City of Sydney’s International Student Leadership and Ambassador (ISLA) Program, sharing their personal perspectives on what volunteering means to them. The videos were recorded during the ISLA Program Induction Training for the Bronze and Gold cohorts of international student leaders at the Redfern Community Centre.
The ISLA Program supports international students to develop leadership skills, build professional networks, contribute to their communities, and become ambassadors for Sydney’s diverse international student community.
