Our new series for volunteer managers, by volunteer managers is here.

As your state peak body, we’re here to shine a light on the incredible individuals, teams and organisations which make up the rich tapestry of our sector. In keeping with this mission, we are delighted to introduce our 10-part Share to Care series, featuring stories from outstanding volunteer leaders across different fields and services, from multicultural support, resource equality to perinatal care and more.

We partnered with 10 volunteer-involving organisations to create this series, with each episode introducing a different volunteer leader, manager, director or CEO, who will discuss their experiences within their role. This includes: what they’ve achieved and learnt along the way, as well as challenges they’ve encountered (because, let’s face it, good leadership and governance is never easy). We also asked them what services and resources they’ve sought out from The Centre in supporting their important work.

Delivered in the spirit of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we hope that this series serves as a friendly reminder to community leaders – young or older, emerging or experienced, formal or informal – that your work does not go unnoticed. Share to Care is an easy resource to dip into, helping you stay informed, motivated and inspired to continue making a difference in your community.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Share to Care series. The first episode – featuring Graham Toomey, a Freshwater man from the Wurrumunga Clan of the Wiradjuri nation and from Wongaibon country and CEO of Gunawirra – will be out shortly.

This project would not have been possible if it weren’t for the support of the accomplished creative team at Pyrmont Studio, with special thanks to Rebecca Saunders and Stefan Varvaressos-Abdi, and our digital strategy champion, Alecia Consulting.

Stay tuned for more episodes in our Share to Care series.
