Over the past five years, The Centre for Volunteering has conducted research into the state of volunteering in NSW and published three State of Volunteering reports, as well as supplementary reports on Volunteering in Sport, Older persons and Volunteering, Volunteering and Youth, Rural and Regional Volunteering, Multicultural Volunteering and Women in Volunteering.
In 2026, The Centre for Volunteering will be conducting research into Volunteering in Health and Volunteering in Emergency, hosting a series of Focus Groups in collaboration with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.
We are inviting volunteers and volunteer leaders to attend a Focus Group to discuss key aspects of volunteering, such as volunteer recruitment and retention, barriers to volunteering and the current volunteering climate in health-focused and emergency-focused organisations.
