How to co-design a mental health focused Volunteer Engagement Framework
November 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pmFree
Participating in community volunteering has a positive impact on an individual’s recovery journey Individuals choose to participate in volunteering roles for a variety of reasons.
It is important to create safe environments for both volunteers and those supporting them.
In 2019, MIEACT embarked on a co-design project to improve the way we recruit, train, engage and support their Volunteer Educators whose role is to deliver mental health education programs in the community.
Their volunteers share their own powerful stories of living with or caring for someone with a mental illness. The focus of the framework is to be recovery orientated and trauma informed that also meets the Australian Nationals Standards of Volunteering.
The MIEACT approach has seen a significant increase in Volunteer satisfaction and engagement rates.
This session takes participants through the framework and how to commence their own journey to focus on mental health in volunteer engagement.
