Communicating with Diverse Audiences: Presentations and Addresses
November 24 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pmFree - A$100.00
Communication guidelines are useful for most situations but sometimes we need to stop and ask ourselves “is there anything else I should be doing that would improve my communication with THIS group?”
Audience diversity could comprise factors such as age, culture, orientation, disability, education, knowledge and many more besides.
This workshop will explore what you need to be aware of when preparing a presentation for or planning a meeting with, diverse audiences.
In the workshop we will identify:
- What we take for granted about our audience
- Appropriate language choices, catering for different generations / cultures / orientations / disability / other diversity categories
- Our own blind spots with communication
The workshop will address the following topics (amongst others!):
- Speaking to different generations – strategies and suggestions
- Word choices and minefields
- Presenting for audiences with disabilities
- Organisational culture
- Improving your CQ
This seminar includes lots of activities, exercises and demonstration opportunities. It is lively and engaging and gets everyone involved! The optimum number of participants is 20 or more.
On the day of the workshop you must arrive for registration at 9:15am for a 9:30am sharp start. Please note minimum numbers are required for this workshop.
