The Australian government has announced a total of $10 million over 2 years for the Community Languages Multicultural Grants Program.

Under Stream Two of the program eligible community language schools are expected to be able to apply for a grant up to a maximum of $25,000 for projects that either produce materials that can be used by community language schools, or contribute towards the professional development of community language school teachers.

These projects must benefit the wider community language school sector or be easily adapted or applied across different language groups. Projects will have a positive flow-on effect to other community language schools that teach and use the same language or benefit community language schools within a geographical proximity.

Partnerships and consortia are strongly encouraged to enable collaboration between smaller and larger organisations that focus on a specific cohort, age or other characteristic. Partnerships with mainstream organisations that possess expertise in developing information resources to support development and delivery of the project are also encouraged.
