The Australian Government has announced a total of $10 million over 2 years for the Community Languages Multicultural Grants Program, and comprises of two discrete streams.
Stream One funding will support the maintenance, development and acquisition of languages other than English, connect young Australians to the languages and cultures of their community, and enhance cross-cultural awareness and respect for cultural diversity.
Under Stream One all eligible community language schools are expected to receive per-capita funding for activities such as professional development courses or activities, costs associated with providing the teaching of language classes, teaching materials and resources, educational equipment or technology, and school administration.
Applications are encouraged from community language schools that meet the eligibility criteria.
