Congratulations to our 2019 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award winners!

After a state-wide search over six months, across 20 regional and suburban centres and covering 123,000 nominations, we are very pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Congratulations to all the nominees, the finalists and of course those selected to receive an award.

It’s exciting to announce our winners, but we hold these awards to highlight the work of all volunteers and remind all our leaders of the importance of providing support for volunteering and volunteer management throughout the state.

Each year, about one in three Australians volunteer for so many worthwhile causes. It’s estimated that they contribute more than $290 billion worth of voluntary work and support to communities throughout the country.  Thank you to all our volunteers for your incredible contribution.

You can read about out Awards finalists and winners across all ceremonies on this page.  You can also go to our FacebookTwitter or LinkedIn pages and say thanks and share your thoughts for their outstanding service.

About the Awards

The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards is an annual program established in 2007 by The Centre for Volunteering to recognise the outstanding efforts of volunteers in NSW, and to promote the importance of volunteering to the community.  In 2019 the Awards program will recognise more than 120,000 volunteers across NSW in front of guests, media, family and friends.

The Awards are a celebration of the great Australian tradition of quietly lending a hand without asking for anything in return. They provide a unique platform for our volunteers to share their remarkable stories and for the state to formally recognise their efforts. By doing so, we send a powerful message about the value of volunteering and the contribution of our 2.1 million volunteers to help build strong, healthy and well-connected communities.
