The Centre for Volunteering (The Centre) was founded in 1974 as a volunteer bureau housed within the NSW Council on the Ageing at Argyle Place, The Rocks.

Since then, The Centre has occupied several addresses in central Sydney and welcomed new name changes. Now in our 50th year, The Centre boasts its own offices with a team of 22 permanent staff providing a comprehensive range of volunteering and volunteer management services. The facilities feature a dedicated training room and boardroom facilities.
