Volunteer Finalists took to the national stage at Government House in Canberra last night, to shine a spotlight on the contribution of volunteering and the exceptional impact of eight extraordinary volunteers from across the country.
The inaugural Australian Volunteer of the Year Award brought together one Finalist from each state and territory as part of the celebrations for National Volunteer Week.
The NSW finalist was Molly Croft from Dubbo who was named 2025 NSW Volunteer of the Year in December last year, honouring her work to fund research into rare cancer, and for her support and care for young people battling illness and adversity.

2026 Australian Volunteer of the Year Dr Felix Ho from the Northern Territory
Dr Felix Ho has dedicated more than three decades to volunteering, beginning with St John Ambulnace when he was 13 years old.
He has continued to make an exceptional contribution in the Northern Territory and the Pacific as a leader and mentor across youth development, community service and emergency response.
