2023 NSW Young Volunteer of the Year Announced

Congratulations to the 2023 NSW Young Volunteer of the Year: Rebecca Ju, who volunteers with her high school, Willoughby Council’s Youth Advisory Group, Amnesty International Australia, and the United Nations Association of Australia.

Biography

Rebecca Ju has extensive volunteering experience, taking on roles in leadership, marketing, community engagement, and more.

As a passionate young volunteer, Rebecca firmly believes that the young people today are the leaders of tomorrow. She strives to involve more youth into activism and solving the societal issues that we face on a community, national and international level – Nominator

Contributions

Rebecca Ju can be celebrated for multiple achievements, including:

  • Raising over $1,000 for Greenpeace
  • Raising $1,257 for Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation
  • Developing a school recycling system, which could see the introduction of soft plastics, fabrics, e-waste, compost and onation bins.

Recently, Rebecca Ju was inducted into Amnesty International Australia’s NSW Activism and Leadership Committee, making her the youngest member ever.
