Growing up in a violent household and experiencing homelessness at aged 13 makes Tegan’s volunteering efforts all the more impressive. In addition to her high school studies, Tegan volunteers with St John’s Ambulance to help achieve her goal of becoming a paramedic. Tegan also volunteers with her local netball club and is a passionate advocate and speaker for the SHINE program, which runs in high schools for vulnerable students. Tegan is a great example of how volunteering not only helps others, but is also a pathway to future employment.
