Young People as Volunteers: A guide to moving beyond traditional practices
In 2011 Volunteer Queensland produced a report on youth volunteering entitled ‘Young People as Volunteers: A guide to moving beyond traditional practices’. In it they provide strategies that can be adapted by organisations in their efforts to more effectively work in collaboration with young volunteers (with a focus on those aged 18 to 25). They also present case studies, highlight good practice, and provide tools and resources relating to youth volunteering. This document is a summary of their main findings, based on their five stage model: Culture, Linking, Engaging, Belonging, Leadership.
