Background to the Award

The Inaugural 2007 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award was an outstanding success with over 36 Regional Winners and 3 overall state winners in the categories of State, Youth, Senior and Corporate. The State Winners were presented with an Outstanding Achievement Certificate presented by Linda Burney and a cash prize for the not-for-profit organisation they volunteered their time, energy and expertise for. The State Government supports and endorses the Award and encourages companies to work with The Centre of Volunteering to recognise and promote volunteering in NSW. The 2008 Award was even bigger and better, with over 450 nominations.
