2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Nominations
Nominations have now closed for the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award.
This is the major category of the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award and is open to any volunteer who meets the Award criteria:
- Nominees must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents with residency in NSW.
- Aged 15 years of age or over
- Nominees must have been involved in volunteering for the equivalent of at least 100 hours over a 12 month period.
- Nominees must have volunteered for a legitimate not-for-profit organisation.
- Communities in NSW must be significant beneficiaries of the nominee’s voluntary work.
The Individual Volunteer Award is judged and awarded at Regional and State levels, with 17 regional winners, from which the State winners will be selected. Special Awards for Youth and Senior Volunteers of the Year are awarded at Regional and State levels, where suitable.
Regional and State Award Ceremonies
The 17 Regional winners of the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award, and the winners of the special Youth and Senior awards will be announced at ceremonies across the State throughout late October and all of November. View the 2009 Award Timeline for exact dates.
The State winner of the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award will be announced at the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Ceremony on Friday, 4 December 2009 at Parliament House, Sydney by Minister for Volunteering, the Hon Graham West.
