2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award winners announced

The 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award recognises and publicly acknowledges the invaluable work done by the 1.7 million volunteers in NSW. Congratulations to the 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award winners, who were announced at Parliament House on Friday, 4 December 2009. The winners are:
- Liz Mullinar AM, 2009 NSW Volunteer of the Year
- Hayden Zammit, 2009 NSW Youth Volunteer of the Year
- Thea Batterham, 2009 NSW Senior Volunteer of the Year
- Nigel Dearinger, 2009 NSW Employee Volunteer of the Year
- Timehelp Holroyd Volunteer Team, 2009 NSW Volunteer Team of the Year

Congratulations to everyone who was nominated for the Award, especially the 38 Regional Award Winners and State Award winners.
In addition, Adam Goodes, Sydney Swans Australian Rules player and dual Brownlow Medallist for best and fairest player, has accepted the invitation to be the NSW Volunteer Ambassador of the Year for 2010 in recognition of his work as a role model and mentor to Aboriginal youth.
