A nine-day fundraising trip to the Northern Territory really opened the eyes of singer Casey Donovan – ironic, considering she was part of a group taking part in The Fred Hollows Foundation's See Australia Challenge.

Challenge participants visited communities in the Jawoyn region of the Northern Territory, where The Foundation works with local organisations to improve the overall health of Indigenous people. MORE

The devastating Asian tsunami struck Thailand's coast while Steven was in the air, and by the time he arrived in the province of Ranong 10 hours south of Bangkok, the IVP volunteers and Thai group leaders suddenly had more urgent work to attend to. MORE

International Volunteer Day | 5 December 2005

On Monday, 5 December take a moment to congratulate yourself for becoming a volunteer. International Volunteer Day celebrates the work of volunteers globally. Don't miss the opportunity to treat yourself to some great volunteering merchandise on sale at Wynard, Townhall and Central Stations in Sydney on the day from 8am-10am and 11am-2pm.

The Centre for Volunteering Holiday Hours

The Centre for Volunteering will be closed for Christmas holidays from Friday, 23 December 2005 and will re-open on Tuesday, 3 January 2006. The Volunteer Referral Service will close on Friday, 16 December 2005 and will re-open on Monday, 9 January 2006.
