Rhoma Hale of Molong

Rhoma has been an active member of the Molong branch of the Australian Red Cross for over 10 years. She has played an important role in making the small community of Molong aware and appreciative of the great efforts of the Red Cross. Since becoming President 18 months ago, Rhoma has motivated the existing members and increased membership by 80%. Due to Rhoma's enthusiastic ideas and endeavours, the branch's fund raising efforts have increased and she is always on the lookout for fresh ideas.

Rhoma is the first to volunteer for any activity and always manages to complete more that her share of the work load. Rhoma is constantly on the phone, writing letters, asking local businesses and sporting clubs for their help.

Central West Region Senior Volunteer of the Year

Bryson Troy of Quandialla

35 years ago, Bryson created a Youth Group in the town of Quandialla, giving the youths of the area a very valuable social outlet. As well as the youth group, Bryson was instrumental in raising funds to open and operate a local 25m swimming pool. He has helped form a swimming club in Quandialla, and, with help from an old friend in Griffith, established a training program for the pool.

Bryson Troy is a well respected and loved member of our community and his example has encouraged many local community members to continue supporting local organisations. He is truly a volunteer that deserves recognition for the countless hours he has given so freely to others.
