July 2009 | The Centre for Volunteering
The Centre welcome Sam Naja as Manager: Marketing, Fundraising and Partnerships, a newly developed role which includes developing and planning fundraising strategies; developing member partnerships; building corporate partnerships and maintaining various stakeholder relationships.
Sam writes:
I have a multi-disciplinary background ranging from volunteering to marketing and executive management of community services and NFP organisations. I have worked with varying levels of private businesses as well as services ranging from community based and national bodies to organisations with global presence, and large Government organisations. My most recent roles included Executive Management of a Migrant Resource Centre, and Marketing & Fundraising manger for International Aid & Development NGO.
Plan
I am proposing to concentrate on Nurturing The Centre's existing stakeholder relationships and working on Cultivating new prospects that have been associated with The Centre over the last three decades.
The current economic environment makes it very challenging for any not-for-profit organisation. However, it also provides opportunities. The membership of any organisation is the strongest aspect of any organisation. Renewing and revitalising the membership base will be one of my priorities, with special attention to developing and maintaining ongoing communication tools.
The Centre also has some excellent projects. Working with the various mangers and team members to develop long-term marketing and fundraising strategies is also one of my priorities – paying particular attention to The School of Volunteer Management, Corporate Volunteering, the Annual NSW Volunteer of the Year Award and Youth Volunteering Programs.
As strategies for existing activities and projects are set, I intend to work closely with the CEO, Lynne Dalton, and various team members to develop activities and 'products' to allow for new funding streams.
At this stage, I'm inviting organisations to participate in sponsoring activities currently promoted to our readership. If you are interested in promoting your services and products to more than 550 associate organisations, 2,100 volunteer management email subscribers, 37,000 volunteers and supporters give me a call at The Centre for Volunteering on 02 9261 3600 or email me at snaja@volunteering.com.au
