goodcompany Foundation invites volunteer professionals to a free night of fun to meet and match with community groups seeking volunteer skills. Come along to our WishFest launch in Melbourne (23 September) or Sydney (30 September) to meet like-minded professionals and community groups keen to use your skills. goodcompany Foundation matches skilled professionals to volunteer roles with 750 different community groups in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. WishFest is a month-long skilled volunteering blitz that aims to place 200 skilled volunteers and deliver to the community sector $1,000,000 worth of free services. Join us for a fun night and to hear how you can give something back by giving your skills.
Throughout October community groups from sectors like children's health, education, the environment, mental health, poverty and homelessness will be looking for volunteer professionals to provide the vital pro-bono services that keep them going. Volunteer skills in demand include accounting, finance, legal and governance, event management, graphic design, IT and web design, HR, marketing, media, PR, communications, strategy, mentoring and Board roles.
Since start-up in 2001 goodcompany's online matching service has helped 7500 registered professional volunteers find "wishes" that suit their skills and time availability. So far goodcompany and its volunteers have delivered to the community sector pro bono services worth more than $8.5 million. Each volunteer wish you grant is worth on average $5,000. Please help us hit the target for WishFest 09 of $1,000,000 in equivalent cash value.
