[8 December 2006 | School of Volunteer Management]
The School of Volunteer Management is pleased to announce one scholarship for 2007 for entry into the Diploma of Business. This new scholarship will be provided by Advanced Solutions International (ASI). ASI is a leader in developing and supporting business management software solutions for a wide variety of organisations. With a diverse offering of business and e-business solutions (including customer relationship management, commerce, community, business intelligence and e-business software), ASI offers solutions and award-winning services that have revolutionised the way organisations do business.
ASI is offering one full-fee scholarship to any full-time worker in a not-for-profit organisation. There are also five half-fee scholarships available to full-time staff members in a not-for-profit organisation that is a current customer of ASI. Applicants are required to be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency and be able to demonstrate that the Diploma is directly relevant to their career and professional development in the not-for-profit sector. The scholarships will be available in March 2007.
The Diploma of Business is an external course covering eight key elements of volunteer management. Some units are available as one-day workshops and are free to enrolled students (conditions apply). Learning material is provided to students on CD and assessment tasks are submitted to tutors for each unit. Assessments in some units can be integrated with projects in your current role allowing students to apply learning to workplace situations and challenges.
Information about the scholarships will be available on the ASI website from 2007. Applicants should firstly apply directly to ASI (www.advsol.com – go to scholarship fund). The scholarships will be granted on a competitive basis. Successful applicants should then ensure they meet the School's criteria for enrolment in the Diploma of Business (www.svm.net.au).
The School would like to thank ASI for their support and to encourage students to take up this career-enhancing opportunity. For further information, phone the School on 02 9261 3600.
