Successful Student Community Involvement Program event

On Friday, 3 March The Centre for Volunteering participated in its first Student Community Involvement Program (SCIP) event for 2006. The Community Education Day was held for Year 11 students at St Joseph's College in Hunters Hill, to prepare them for their community service which they will be doing as part of their Faith Development.

The day aimed to open students to people, issues and needs in their community of which they may previously have not been aware. Speakers from a variety of community organisations visited and addressed the students, including:

All in all, it was a great day, informative, inspiring and fun. A big thank you to everyone who was involved.
