The Centre for Volunteering at the 2006 Education Expo

[27 June 2006 | The Centre for Volunteering and Education Expo 2006]

On Saturday–Sunday, 24–25 June The Centre for Volunteering exhibited at the 2006 Education Expo at Rosehill Racecourse Event Centre. The annual expo featured everything educational: educational institutions, vocational organisations, new apprenticeships, learning resources, online learning and educational services from Australia and overseas.

Mark, Jacinthe and Harry

The expo was a fantastic networking opportunity and allowed us to promote our School Community Involvement Program (SCIP) to schools, teachers and students. It was also a good opportunity to speak to parents about how they can become involved in volunteering.

The weekend was a great success and we would like to thank our volunteers Sue Oxford who designed our booth, Harry Whelan who networked with schools, telling them about SCIP and Mark Hogan who manned our booth.

We would like to extend a special thanks to hogan print who kindly donated the printing of our "Make a Difference. Volunteer" cards and then were on hand to pass them out at the expo.
