Fee For Service Programs: e-news Management Service

Would your organisation benefit from sending a regular email newsletter? We can provide you with a professional e-newsletter service, helping you regularly communicate with your members, stakeholders and supporters.

The Centre's communications team has extensive experience in e-communications. In addition to The Centre for Volunteering's websites, online tools and e-newsletters – The Voice of Volunteering, Volunteer Life and SVM e-news – we have also been involved in projects such as the official Sydney 2000 Olympic Games website, the NSW Premier's official site for events information (Events.nsw.gov.au), various NSW Councils including Wyong Shire Council and the NSW Department of Education and Training.

Our e-news Management Service is a cost–effective way for you to send out email newsletters, alerts and announcements.

What do you get when you use The Centre to develop your e-newsletter campaigns


  • Using your list of contacts we will create and manage your e-newsletter database. All you have to do is provide us with your members, stakeholders and supporters' names and email addresses. Please note you must have permission from your contacts to send them e-communications (otherwise you are breaking the law).
  • we will design and build an e-newsletter template to suit your organisation. You will need to provide us with your logo, branding information and any specific design requirements you may have.
  • Send your e-newsletter monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly - the choice is yours.
  • When you want to send an e-newsletter just send us your approved copy, any images and website links you want in your newsletter and we'll do the rest. We can even review your copy and images to ensure they are e-newsletter-friendly.
  • You get to see and approve each newsletter before it is sent.
  • You can segment your contact database into groups allowing you to target specific people with your email campaigns.

What does it cost to develop a personalised e-newsletter template and campaign?


Set-up cost: $400
There is a one-off set-up cost of just $400 for The Centre to set-up your e-newsletter database and design a template. This includes:
  • Creating a database to host your contact list and manage the sending of your e-newsletters.
  • Importing your list into your database
  • Management of list and database
  • Design of your e-newsletter template
  • Producing an html and text version of your e-newsletter template

Ongoing costs
A fee of $80 per newsletter campaign applies to each individual e-newsletter campaign you send. In addition to this, you will be charged $0.08 for each email address you send your e-newsletter to.

If you were sending your e-newsletter to 1,500 people it would cost:

Campaign fee: $80
Address fee: $0.08 x 1,500 email addresses
Total: $200

If you send your e-newsletter quarterly your yearly costs would be :

Campaign fee: $80 x 4 = $320
Address fee: $0.08 x 1,500 email addresses x 4 = $480
Total: $800

e-newsletter campaign reports: $10 per report
We can provide you with a report after each e-newsletter campaign is complete– detailing how many emails were sent, opened and forwarded on to friends; if anyone unsubscribed from receiving emails; as well as what links in your newsletter were clicked on and how many times (which is great for assessing the effectiveness of your content).

Become a member of The Centre for Volunteering and then email Kristin Romanis, Online Manager, telling her you're interested in our e-news Management Service. She'll then meet and work with you to establish your needs. She'll send you a copy of The Centre's e-newsletter agreement, invoice and payment options. When you have signed and returned these, Kristin will send you an electronic pack filled with everything we need from you to get started such as:
  • Your members' names and email addresses
  • Your e-newsletter template design *
  • Your logo and any relevant images
  • Approved content for your first e-newsletter including relevant links to your website.
  • Documents for readers to download (if any)
  • Contact details for the person in your organisation responsible for signing off each e-newsletter before sending.
  • Timeline for sending out future e-newsletters
