Member Benefits: Fido Skilled Volunteer Search
What is Fido?
Fido skilled volunteer search connects not-for-profit organisations looking
to recruit volunteers for short-term or long-term positions with skilled,
experienced volunteers.
Fido Skilled Volunteer Search has three simultaneous
ways of advertising skilled volunteer positions:
- They are advertised in the Sydney Morning Herald's Help Desk column on the inside back page of the News Review section on Saturdays and on the inside back page of the main news section on Mondays. Help Desk advertises five volunteer positions every Monday and three on Saturdays.
- They are advertised on our new Fido website in latest jobs every Monday.
- The Centre for Volunteering emails the free Fido Skilled Volunteer Search e-bulletin to over 1,000 skilled volunteers every Monday. Volunteers can sign up to receive this on the Fido website.
Who can use Fido?
Organisations using Fido Skilled Volunteer Search need to be members of The Centre
for Volunteering and have current public liability insurance and volunteer personal accident insurance.

What jobs aren't suitable for Fido?
Fido Skilled Volunteer Search is not always able to advertise all the requests for positions it receives. However, any position can be advertised through
The Centre for Volunteering's Volunteer Referral Service which advertises jobs on The Centre's website, Seek Volunteer and GoVolunteer. As people express interest in your job, our referral service interviews them and identifies suitable volunteers who we refer onto your organisation.
