Strategic Directions 2008–2011

Our Mission

"We promote and support volunteering and the community"

The core expertise of The Centre is in volunteering and other forms of community participation for the benefit of the individual and the community. Our objective is to develop our peak body role by offering strong leadership in volunteering and community participation through research, referral, training and education. The Centre also offers consulting services and volunteer support, advice and advocacy.

Strategies

In order to fulfil its mission, The Centre has adopted five strategies. These are:

  1. Advocate for volunteers and the voluntary sector
  2. Undertake research and policy development in volunteering
  3. Promote volunteering in society
  4. Provide member services
  5. Set and implement standards in volunteering
